The decorated Christmas trees were outstanding, and the plants were exceptionally beautiful and disappeared very fast.

On the first night the Bake sale, chaired by Carolyn Booth, sold out. My heartfelt thanks to Pat and Paul Blackwell who helped decorate the Museum and much, much more. Sharon Fenwick, also helped with decorations for the Museum. Betty Ann Huntsman was my mentor and friend.

Doris Griffith, Faye Odom and Arlene Croll helped keep the Museum open during the week and Jacki Sandler created the beautiful Tree that took second place.

I can’t forget Angela Nicols who couldn’t be there because she was on a cruise but she gave me her key to the Museum that allowed me to come and go and get things done when needed. The Directors and staff of the Museum were there when needed.

• UPDATE ON THE TWIST CAPS: They will take all white or any color PLASTIC twist off caps. These can be from water bottles, mayonnaise, shampoo, conditioner or any plastic cap that screws on and off.
• The pull tabs can also be from other things as well as soda cans. They can be from soup, tuna, or anything that is opened by a pull tab.
• We are still collecting eye glasses, cell phones, prescription bottles (clear brown with the caps and no labels), Campbell soup labels, General Mills Box Tops, and any school supplies.

We are doing a great job—but the job is never done. I am very appreciative for all the effort you put forth by bringing these items to the meetings.

I want to take this time and thank my Officers, Department and Community Service Program Chairmen for all their hard work and dedication to this club. A group of ladies who have inspired your President with their knowledge and talents. I can only imagine what the next five months will bring to the club and its membership.
We have participated in the Festival of Trees, chaired by our own Joyce Hayward, held at the Apopka Historical Museum, decorating a tree for the auction, sold plants, and like last year helped with keeping the museum open for the public to view the trees and wreaths that were on display. I hope each of you had a chance to see "Mayor John Land's" tree which was put together by Jacki Sandler and the Home Life Community Service Program. What a wonderful job and beautiful tribute to a very special person.

On Saturday, December 10^th, the club once again had the opportunity to be a part of the Apopka Christmas Parade, sponsored by the Sertoma Club. The golf carts were decorated by Susan Bornmann, Sharon Canfield, Toni Hornak, Kathy Hopper, Reba Stromwell, Dena Morrow, Trudy Weiss and your President. We had our green shirts and Santa hats on, rang the bells. It was a beautiful and fun filled day. Thank you to Robert and BJ Morris for getting the golf carts.

Toni Hornak and the Social Committee did a wonderful job putting together a Christmas party to remember. The party was held at Zellwood Station Country Club on December 10^th. Our group of 54 people laughed, danced, sang, rang bells, swapped gifts and had a wonderful dinner. Thanks to Tom Dougherty for providing the music…we know how proud Bobbie is of Tom.

Finishing up the year.…must remind you to put your hours down and turn them into Susan Bornmann, our reporting chairman. If you can get this down before the 31^st of December, Ms. Bornmann will be extremely happy.

2011 will soon be a part of our past, but 2012 has a lot of great things in store for the membership. The 51^st Art and Foliage Festival under the leadership of Dena Morrow and Trudy Weiss is already in full swing. In the next couple of months, you will hear all about the festival and the rolls you will be asked to participate in. This is our major project for the club, but can only be accomplished with each and every one of you.

January will bring in the Arts Community Service Program headed by Chairman Eileen Langley, doing our program. To the "talented" members (there are a lot of you) gather your crafts and bring them to the meeting for judging, so we can sent them on to the district competition.

My wish for each of you is that the end of 2011 finds you counting the blessings of family and friends, and thankful for all that has been given to each and everyone of us. Love so easily understands what you can see is the smallest part; you don't need Christmas in your hands when you have Christmas in your heart.
